Do other Americans hate New York (and New Yorkers)?

 Gosh, I don’t even know where to begin. I worked for a call center where I get customers from all over the US, and let just say, it is hardly a pleasant experience when the caller is from NYC. These are the reasons:

  1. New Yorkers are just plain rude. Most New Yorkers are just loud, impatient, and love to scream over the phone when you’re trying to help them. They do not have any manners or whatsoever.
  2. Most New Yorkers are not even Americans. Many New Yorkers are actually immigrants, so their customs and manners are not compatible with many Americans. People from foreign countries are pushy and impolite toward Americans which is why so many Americans end up hating New Yorkers even more.
  3. New Yorkers are leaving their state in drove, but they try to make everywhere they move to like their home state. Please realize that you left your state for a reason! If you did not like your own state, don’t make our state just like yours.

  4. New Yorkers are business people, and everything is business for them. As a mountain state resident, I find New Yorkers’ mindset are most incompatible with our way of living out in the mountain. New Yorkers approach life like it’s a business, and they judge you for your career choice. Here in Colorado, we work so we can live and enjoy the outdoors, and we don’t care if our job is a six-figure high paying job or not. Money is always on a New Yorker’s mind, but it’s not on our mind.

  5. New York City, to most Americans, is a concrete jungle filled with crimes and corrupt people. I’m sorry, but I would not move to New York City even if I was offered six-figure salary. NYC might be vibrant as a large city, but there is absolutely no view of mother nature. NYC looks like a souless block of buildings and skyscrapers. In my area, the tallest feature of our city is our mountain, not a building.

Overall, New York is a horrible state, and its people are even worst (mainly NYC people that I’m referring to). I genuinely would like to visit Upstate New York. In fact, I think Upstate New York should break away from NYC so it can gain back its own unique identity. NYC is trash! And so are the people there!
